Make the planet great again

Reduce

Making better choices about what we buy and trying to reduce waste can have a huge impact. Less waste produces less energy. Reduced landfill means fewer greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to the climate crisis.

Some ways you can reduce your contribution include:

  • Turning off lights/appliances that aren't in use
  • Going paperless
  • Using public transport, biking or carpooling to work
  • Buying items with less packaging

Reuse

Reusing conserves resources and reduces waste. It causes less pollution than recycling or making new products from raw materials. It also makes useful and important items available to those in need or who can't afford to buy them.

Some ways you can reuse include:

  • Using reusable tools such as water bottles, cutlery or straws
  • Buying and giving to second hand shops
  • Making old items into new

Recycle

A range of materials can be recycled today. Many recycled products are now on the market. Making products from recycled materials uses less energy than if raw materials are used.

Some helpful tips to help you recycle include:

  • Composting your food
  • Compressing waste such as bottles/cans will allow more room for recycling
  • Keeping your recyclable items clean stops contamination
